Phil and Riot are on their way to Austin, Texas to take on Psycho Miko and his gang, Barrio Azteca, who are extorting money from an entire neighbourhood. It’s a tricky situation; normally their missions involve getting rid of one person, not five. But the reward is worth it. So much so that Phil and Riot wonder how the neighbours can afford it. What they don’t know: Alastor Monro is behind the idea of taking down Barrio Azteca and helping the people of Franklin Park pay for it. It seems he’s come back from the fire that burned down Santa Rosa Reformatory, when everyone thought he was dead. His intentions, whatever they are, are not good and will be revealed in the second arc.

Saint Rose
After the exhausting battle in the cave under the petrol station, Phil and Riot flee. Phil drives the Cadillac while Riot rests in the back. He’s been knocked unconscious by the use of his powers too soon, and hasn’t regained his consciousness yet. As he drives, Phil begins to remember how they met in flashback mode. We see their early years at St Rose’s, a cross between Xavier’s and Arkham Asylum. Here we discover the identity of Alastor Monroe, the sinister figure who ran St Rose with an iron fist, and begin to understand the relationship they forged.

Stranded in desert
On their way from Olmito to Austin, where they are waiting for another job, Phil and Riot get stranded in the desert. They have to walk to a petrol station to refuel their car. But when they get there, they encounter something out of this world. The guy coming out of the station turns into a demon before their eyes. During a fight, the gas pumps explode, exposing a passageway that leads to a cave. They decide to explore it. They find the family of the petrol station demon and something out of Lovecraft’s nightmares.

Olmito
This adventure takes our heroes to a small town called Olmito. They travel there to help a woman who wants to get rid of her violent husband. When they meet her, they take the case (especially Riot) on as a personal mission, as they witness the results of one of her blows to the face. But just because the target is a redneck who spends his days drinking beer doesn’t mean the job is going to be easy. He’s related to the town’s sheriff, who acts like a petty tyrant.
